Why did I become interested in Organizational and Human Factors?
FRANCK RENOUARD
TRAINING
Since 2010 I decided to focus on training this concept for caregivers, pilots and all stakeholders in high-risk industries such as nuclear power plants. It must be admitted that 15 years ago, very few of us talked about Human Factors. I created ewenn.formation and since then I have been teaching regularly for caregivers or in high-risk industries such as nuclear power plants. I also teach courses for students at university or in Post-University Diplomas for caregivers. I am one of the founding members of the association Human Factors in Health: https://facteurshumainsensante.org/
The courses can be in French or English. These training courses are also possible within the 26K Paris (avenue Kléber 75116) continuing education structure with which I collaborate. : https://www.26kparis.com/fr
"In 1995, I had an accident with a helicopter while I was at the controls. On that particular day, I made a gross piloting error. However, I had no desire to risk my life and my piloting skills were sufficient to fly this machine.
This is why I asked myself the question of the reason for error whether in aviation, in medicine or in all human activities.
The world I discovered is incredible and challenges many of our certainties.

Participant Testimonials
This intervention allowed me to understand that you have to try to stay calm in all situations,
knowing how to trust yourself even when things don't necessarily go in our favor.
We must remain calm and take stock at the end so that this type of incident does not happen again,
and find the solution as a leader.
"I really appreciated his intervention both in terms of content and form,
Mr. Renouard was clear and cited his sources. As for the subject, I found it particularly appropriate for our training and I will talk about it to those around me. I am completely won over by his remarks on human error and how to manage it. I think it was very educational for me.
You can of course thank him, it was really a quality conference."
"The conference was very interesting and including anecdotes helped keep the thread going.
and keep us attentive. Unlike many boring lectures,
This one was well done. Thanks to him"
Most often, Organizational and Human Factors are perceived as being solely focused on error, complication, and problem. It quickly becomes depressing, but it is also true that we must address these themes to understand why the human brain makes mistakes that sometimes end in complications. Mistakes are inevitable regardless of our hierarchical position in the team. We make 4 to 6 per hour.
But once this principle is established and understood, the concept of Organizational and Human Factors offers a whole series of tools that will simplify professional life. It only takes a few days in the dental office or in the care structure to start feeling the benefit of the FOH transformations. Everyone can identify the weaknesses of their work environment to use the most appropriate tools. One of the most frequently reported points following the training is a reduction in stress and a better relationship between team members.
It is good to come to the trainings as a team. Participants will understand not only what can be improved but also why to do it. Neuroscience is there to help us understand the importance of HOF support tools such as checklists. Giving meaning to rules and protocols is one of the key points of the Human and Organizational Factors concept. It must be kept in mind that the basis for improving practices remains exemplarity. Everyone, including practitioners, must adapt their practice so that the results are there.
